I got up in the morning a bit later than usual. I was quite happy, because I didn’t wake up with the usual early morning headache, like I always do. That is how I knew this day was special. You see, this morning wasn’t a normal morning, it was a ‘Travel morning’ (Feels so good to say that!)
I got downstairs, made myself some toast, sat down at the dining table with a novel, before eating my breakfast.
Then I got upstairs, had my bath and did everything I wanted to do, before getting into some last minute packing.
I love the feeling of a travel morning. I just love the fact that I know that I won’t spend the next night in my usual home. I love seeing new people and new places to explore and enjoy.
So yeah! I was pretty excited about the trip.
By the time we got into the car everyone looked exhausted. Even my baby sister, who is the liveliest of us all, looked a bit sleepy.
All through the 2-3 hour road trip, I just read, slept and wrote. Then the cycle continued all over again.
Most of the drive no-one said a word.
I could feel my heart pounding with excitement as we got closer and closer to our final destination.
I also felt excited about seeing my cousins again, since I only get to see them about once a year.
When we got to our final destination, I was so amazed by what I saw. The house apparently had been demolished and rebuilt to a bigger, new one.
I was so happy because, there were different new places to explore in the new building.
I was so happy to see my cousins, aunts, grandparents… My relatives in general.
When we arrived we got our mattresses, bedsheets and quickly made ourselves at home. Before I could turn my siblings had changed into their slippers and went outside to play with our cousins.
For some weird reason I decide to help and make the room look nice.
Soon, I started to talk to my cousins too. Or should I say I was listening to their gist. I think I am more of a listening person.😄
Wait, I think I forgot to write one more thing……
HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE!!!🎄🎆🎉🎊
