There was a time when I thought Christmas was about getting the best presents and gifts, going to the Christmas tree and singing ‘we wish you a merry Christmas’ with your loved ones…… If you imagine what Christmas was in movies you will get a perfect image of what I thought it was then.
To be honest, I don’t really know what a ‘perfect’ Christmas is because, I don’t think there is anything like that. Every Christmas is a different roller coaster for me. Whether it is a boring Christmas or a really fun Christmas if you look at it in a calendar it will still be the same ol’ day!
A usual Christmas for me is sitting in front of a television with my cousins, eating special food, watching television specials or even inviting guests over for a meal.
If I was to think about the ‘perfect’ Christmas, it would be to spread happiness to people everywhere, loving your loved ones, giving out to the people who cannot give and not wanting anything in return.
Nowadays, nobody cares about other people when giving. If you ask most children their own idea of Christmas, it is usually ‘getting all the things they want on their Christmas wish list’ or, ‘eating the best food of the year’. During Christmas, think about the hungry, homeless people on the street as your eating your scrumptious food in your cozy home.
Instead of giving gifts to your rich loved ones, try donating to an orphanage.
Because Christmas is about making everyone happy and loved. Look at the children in the orphanage, some of them who keep asking themselves over and over what they could have ever done for their parents to abandon them.
Sometimes people cry during Christmas and ask themselves why they can’t provide the best Christmas for their kids.
Look at yourself and think about how lucky you are to be alive for the experience of Christmas. Or what you are truly grateful for.
Imagine your loved one and smile at how lucky you are to have them.
If there was a perfect Christmas it would be about being happy, no matter what you are happy about.
Christmas to me is happiness, love, gratefulness and satisfaction. Because satisfaction is one of the best ways to enjoy Christmas.
Maybe I will change up my Christmas a bit and add a lot more giving and less television.
I guess that’s it!
